Minorities Rights Day : 18 December
- When: The Minorities Rights Day is observed in India every year on December 18 since 1992.
- Why: Protect the existence of the National or Ethnic, Cultural, Religious and Linguistic identity of minorities within their respective territories and encourage conditions for the promotion of that identity.
- The Day was promulgated by United Nations on December 18, 1992 to strengthen the cause of the minorities.
