India's Second and South India's First Kisan Rail flagged off from Andhra's Anantapur to Delhi

The second ‘Kisan Rail’ in India and the first from the South India region was inaugurated on 9 September 2020 from Anantapuramu district of Andhra Pradesh to the national capital New Delhi.
The Kisan Rail was flagged off by the Union Minister for Agriculture Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy via a video link from New Delhi and Amaravati respectively.
The train containing 14 parcel vans carrying 322 tonnes of fresh fruits and vegetables will cover a distance of 2,150 km in 40 hours.
The first Kisan Rail carrying perishable goods was flagged off between Devlali in Maharashtra and Danapur in Bihar on 7 August 2020.
