Indian start-up ecosystem continues to be the 3rd largest in the world, Top- China: NASSCOM Report

As per the “Indian Tech Start-up Ecosystem” released by NASSCOM, the Indian start-up ecosystem continues to be the third-largest in the world with a total of 24 Unicorns. (unicorn is a start-up with >$1Bn valuation).
China is on top with 206 Unicorns and US is on second with 203 unicorns. Here are some other facts from the report:
- 8900-9300 Start-ups incepted during 2014-19, overall base growing at 12-15% y-o-y
- 1300+ Start-ups added in 2019
- 7 Unicorns added in 2019; total 24 unicorns are active in India
- $ 4.4 bn Total funding received by Start-ups in 2019 (Jan-Sep)
- 60,000 New Direct Jobs created; 1.3-1.8 Lakh New Indirect Jobs created
