Five Indian Writers’ Novel Included in BBC’s ‘100 Novels That Shaped Our World’
- The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced a list of ‘100 Novels That Shaped Our World’ which has been complied by a panel of leading writers, curators and critics.
- The list includes books based into 10 categories – Identity; love, sex and romance; adventure; life, death and other worlds; politics, power and protest; class and society; coming of age; family and friendship; crime and conflict; and rule breakers.
The list also includes work of five Indian authors. They are:
- The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
- The Moor’s Last Sigh by Salman Rushdie
- Swami and Friends by RK Narayan
- A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth
- A House for Mr Biswas by VS Naipaul
