India Ranks 68th While Singapore Tops the WEF Global Competitiveness Index 2019
- India has been ranked 68th in the annual Global Competitiveness Index released by the World Economic Forum on October 9.
- This year India has moved down to 10 places as compared to last year.
- Singapore has replaced the United States to top the index as the world’s most competitive economy.
- United States, Hong Kong, Netherlands and Switzerland occupy the top 5 positions respectively in the index.
- The Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) uses 103 indicators, grouped into 12 pillars, to map the competitiveness landscape of 141 economies.
