India Announces $12 million Grant for High Impact Developmental Projects in Pacific Island Countries

  • Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced total allocation of $12 million grant for India-Pacific Islands Developing States (PSIDS) ($ 1 million to each PSIDS) for implementation of high impact developmental project in the area of their choice.
  • The announcement was made at the India-Pacific Islands Developing States (PSIDS) Leaders’ meeting on 24th September in New York on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly.
  • In addition to this, India has also announced a concessional Line of Credit of $150 Million for the PSIDS for undertaking solar, renewable energy and climate related projects based on each country’s requirement.
