Assam Launches Housing Loan Subsidy Scheme 'Aponar Apon Ghar'

The government of Assam has launched a housing loan subsidy scheme titled “Aponar Apon Ghar”(meaning Your own Home) to provide financial assistance on purchase or construction of the first house for a family.
Under the scheme, subsidy up to Rs 2.5 lakh will be provided for loan amounts from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.
The loan subsidy scheme is meant for the loan sanctioned in the financial year 2019-20.

The interest subsidy will be provided on loans in the following range:

Loan Amount Interest Subsidy

Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh Rs 1 lakh

Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh Rs 1.50 lakh

Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh Rs 2 lakh

Rs 30 to Rs 40 Lakh Rs 2.50 lakh

The state has also launched an education loan interest subsidy named Abhinandan, providing one time subsidy of Rs 50,000, to children who have availed education loan for pursuing higher education.
