• India and the United States of America (USA) have launched the “Climate Action and Finance Mobilization Dialogue (CAFMD)”. It will strengthen India-US bilateral cooperation on climate and environment.

• Now the Department has notified ‘Revised Transport and Marketing Assistance (TMA) for Specified Agriculture Products Scheme’ for exports effected on or after 01.04.2021 up to 31.03.2022. There are two major changes in the revised scheme:
  • Dairy products will now be eligible for assistance under the revised scheme.
  • Rates of assistance have been increased, by 50% for exports by sea and by 100% for exports by air.

• The PLI scheme was announced in the Union Budget 2021-22, for 13 sectors, at an outlay of Rs 1.97 lakh crore.

• Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, is setting up an Atmanirbhar Bharat corner in 75 Indian Missions/ Embassies across the world in the next 3 months.
• The first such Atma Nirbhar Bharat corner was successfully inaugurated at Indian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand on August 15, 2021. Apart from this, TRIFED will also be establishing Atmanirbhar corners in 75 embassies of foreign countries set up in India.

• The first phase of the PMUY scheme, Ujjwala 1.0, was launched in 2016, with the target to provide LPG connections to five crore women members of below poverty line (BPL) households.
• On August 10, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Ujjwala 2.0, the second phase of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), via videoconferencing.
• Under Ujjwala 2.0, an additional one crore LPG connection will be provided to low-income families who could not be covered under the first phase of PMUY.

• The government has set the loans disbursement target under the PM Mudra Yojana (PMMY) at Rs 3 trillion for 2021-22 (FY22).

• The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) observed the 161st Income Tax Day (also known as Aaykar Diwas) on 24 July, 2021.
• In India, the Income Tax Day is celebrated every year on July 24, as it was on 24 July 1980 that Income Tax was introduced for the first time in India by Sir James Wilson.
