Alert – AnyDesk app – Being use for Fraudulent Purpose

“AnyDesk” is a software /app that can do transactions from your bank account via your mobile or laptop without letting you know that it is a scam. So please learn the name of this app and never download such app. Actually it is a software/app that is used to connect/share two workstations. However now, this feature is being used by the fraudulent crackers for stealing the passwords and OTPs of the users and stealing money from their bank account. The software works by connecting one device to another.
Alert By Reserve Bank of India on AnyDesk
On February 14, 2019 the Reserve Bank of India alerted the Commercial Banks about the potential fraud that this AnyDesk app may cause. The IT Cell of the Reserve Bank of India informed the banks that an app named AnyDesk was being used by crackers to access data on mobile devices.
You may get social shares on social media sites, whatsapp messages regarding download of this App. Please do-not download this app.
How does the AnyDesk Mobile App works?
- The fraudster will get the app installed in the mobile.
- The App will generate a nine digit on the users device and using this nine digit code the fraudster can access the data of the users mobile after granting permissions to the AnyDesk App.
- AnyDesk App will read the OTPs of the user and send it to the fraudster. Hence the cracker can access you banks money with ease.
This modus operandi can be used by the fraudster to carry out financial transactions through any mobile banking and payment related app including UPI, Payment wallets etc.
How to be safe from apps like AnyDesk?
- Never download financial apps from external links like social media or whatsapp.
- Download only genuine and verified apps of your bank.
- Don’t give unnecessary permissions to the mobile apps.
- If you have already downloaded the AnyDesk app, then please uninstall it immediately.
The AnyDesk App can not only hack UPI payment method but also other electronic digital payment methods. So Be aware.

- Always ensure that your are using the https version of the website.
- Change your online passwords regularly.
- Avoid internet banking in internet cafes.
- Never share your OTPs and PIN
