- Beijing-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s (AIIB) has approved a $400-million loan for water sanitation project in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
- The project aims to provide safe drinking water through an extended piped water supply to ensure access to water and sanitation for all and in turn have a positive impact on women and girls in affected communities.
- Now the overall exposure of the AIIB to India has become $2 billion spread over nine projects.
