  • In its Annual Conference meetings in London, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that it has suspended Zimbabwe, Croatia and Zambia from ICC events till October 2019. While Morocco has been expelled from Membership of the ICC.
  • The reason for the suspension of the three-country is due to the interference of the respective government in the sports event. Further decision about there suspension will be taken in October 2019.
  • Apart from this some major decisions are:
    • Concussion player replacements to be introduced in international cricket
    • Captains will no longer be suspended for repeated or serious over-rate breaches. All players should be held equally responsible for slow over rates, and as such will be fined at the same level as the captain.
    • In World Test Championship matches a team that is behind the required over-rate at the end of a match will have two competition points deducted for each over it is behind.
  • Apart from this the newly constituted ICC Women’s Committee headed by Clare Connor met for the first time.
