World Cotton Day: October 7
- The first edition of the World Cotton Day (WCD) was inaugurated by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva on October 7, 2019.
- WCD Day has been initiated by the Group of Cotton-4 countries namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali to the reflect the importance of cotton as a global commodity.
- The WTO Secretariat is organizing the WCD event in collaboration with the Secretariats of FAO, UNCTAD, ITC and ICAC.
