Vinesh Phogat wins gold medal in UWW Rome Ranking Series 2020
- The 2020 season’s first UWW Ranking Series was held from January 15 to 18 in the Italian Capital, Rome.
- India’s wrestling champion Vinesh Phogat defeated Ecuador’s Luisa Elizabeth Melendres 4-0 in the final (53 kg) to win her first gold medal of the season at the UWW Rome Ranking Series.
- Earlier, Anshu Malik settled for a silver in 57kg competition.
- Till now, India’s medal tally in Rome Series has reached 5 including 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.
