Uttarakhand Government Launches 'Vatsalya Yojana' for Children Orphaned due to Covid

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has launched a scheme called ‘Chief Minister Vatsalya Yojana’ for children who lost their parents due to Covid-19.
Under the scheme, arrangements will be made for maintenance, education and training for employment of these orphan kids of the state up to the age of 21 years.
Such orphaned children will be given a maintenance allowance of Rs. 3000 per month.
Besides, laws will also me made for the paternal property of these orphans in which no one will have the right to sell their paternal property until they are adults.
This responsibility will be with the District Magistrate of the concerned district.
Additionally, these kids will be provided with 5% horizontal reservation in Uttarakhand government jobs.
