Telangana CM Dedicates Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project to Nation
- Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dedicated the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) to the nation on June 21, 2019.
- Built across the Godavari River, Rs 80,500 crore KLIP is touted to be world’s largest multi-stage, multi-purpose lift irrigation project.
- It is designed to irrigate 45 lakh acres for two crops in a year, meet the drinking water requirement of 70 percent of the state as well as cater to the needs of the industry.
