Tamil Nadu Government Launches Young Advocates Welfare Fund

  • The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy launched the Young Advocates Welfare Fund on 28 October 2020.
  • Under the newly launched fund, the young lawyers who has just come out of law colleges in the state would get a monthly financial assistance of Rs 3000 per month each for two years.
  • A fresher from law colleges usually takes three to four years to begin practice as an advocate in the court because the registration in the Bar Council, and the mandatory practicing under a senior advocate takes time.
  • The Young Advocates Welfare Scheme will help fresh candidates to sustain themselves during the initial period,  so that they do not shift their profession.
