Srinagar joins UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)

Srinagar, the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir has been designated as a part of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on November 08, 2021.
Srinagar has been designated in craft and folk art field.
It is the is only sixth Indian city to achieve this distinction after Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Jaipur.
As of now, there are 295 cities from 90 countries in the UCCN network.
