Srinagar joins UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)
- Srinagar, the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir has been designated as a part of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on November 08, 2021.
- Srinagar has been designated in craft and folk art field.
- It is the is only sixth Indian city to achieve this distinction after Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Jaipur.
- As of now, there are 295 cities from 90 countries in the UCCN network.
