Sonia Gandhi Re-Elected As Chief of Congress Parliamentary Party

Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of United Progressive Alliance (UPA), has been elected as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party on June 1, 2019 at a meeting of the newly-elected Congress Lok Sabha MPs in New Delhi.
Her name was proposed by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh
Ms. Gandhi will now have to pick the party’s floor leader in the Lok Sabha.
The floor leader sets the agenda for his party in the House, decides its parliamentary strategy and coordinates with other Opposition parties and the government on behalf of his party.
