Singapore’s PM Lee Hsien Loong re-elected, as governing party PAP wins 14th parliamentary elections

  • Singapore held its general elections on voted on 10 July 2020 to elect the country’s 14th Parliament, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • The ruling party People’s Action Party (PAP) won majority of the vote with 83 out of the 93 seats meaning that the PAP will remain in power for another five years.
  • PAP is ruling the country since independence in 1965.
  • The incumbent Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will continue to serve as the national leader.
  • The 68 year old Loong is serving as the 3rd Prime Minister of Singapore of the country since August 2004.
