Singapore Overtakes US as World’s Most Competitive Economy: IMD
- Singapore has dethroned United States to emerge as the world’s most competitive economy, according to the IMD World Competitiveness Rankings 2019.
- Hong Kong occupied the second spot in the list followed by US at third place.
- India has been ranked at 43, one position higher compared to 2018.

- World Competitiveness Ranking is released by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) based in Switzerland.
- This is different from the Global Competitiveness Index released by the World Economic Forum.
