SBI-led consortium picks Grant Thornton as resolution professional (RP) for Jet Airways

The Jet Airways lenders consortium has selected Ashish Chhawchharia of advisory firm Grant Thornton for the role of interim resolution professional (RP) for the airline’s bankruptcy proceedings.
The consortium led by State Bank of India (SBI) had opted for a resolution of the grounded airline under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
With the company in NCLT, the lenders face the possibility of recovering a fraction of their dues worth ₹8,400 crore. Jet’s total liabilities, including unpaid salaries and vendor dues, are nearly₹15,000 crore.
