Reciting Preamble to Constitution Mandatory in Maharashtra Schools w.e.f January 26
- On 21 January 2020, the Maharashtra government has passed an order that all the primary and secondary schools across the state must compulsorily recite the Preamble of the Constitution during their morning assemblies.
- This programme will be implemented from 26 January 2020 across the state.
- Reading out the Preamble is part of the “sovereignty of Constitution, welfare of all” campaign, launched so that the students understand its importance.
