Punjab Government Launches ‘Mera Kaam Mera Maan’ Scheme to help Unemployed Youth in ‘enhancing Skills’ for Jobs

  • Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab government has launched a scheme titled ‘Mera Kaam Mera Maan (MKMM)’ to assist unemployed youth in the state and empower them by improving their skillset and aptitude so that they find jobs easily in their preferred domains.
  • Under the scheme, the beneficiaries will be imparted free short-term skill training and an additional employment support allowance of Rs 2500 per month for a period of 12 months from the commencement of the training programme.
  • The scheme has initially been launched as a pilot project and will include only construction workers and their wards in the state.
  • Under the Pilot Project, a target of 30,000 beneficiaries has been proposed at an expense of Rs 90 crore.
