President Ramnath Kovind Presents “Vayoshreshtha Samman 2019” to Eminent Senior Citizens & Institutions
- The President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented the “Vayoshreshtha Samman 2019” on October 3, 2019 in New Delhi to the eminent senior citizens and institutions.
- Vayoshreshtha Samman is a scheme of awards, of the status of National Awards, instituted by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment for eminent senior citizens in recognition of their service/achievements and also institutions involved in rendering distinguished service for the cause of elderly persons.
- These awards are presented to institutions/organisations/individuals as part of the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) which is celebrated every year on 1st October.
