President Kovind Confers Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2020 Awards to Children

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2020 at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 22 January 2020.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is India’s Highest Civilian Honour bestowed upon exceptional students under the age of 18 in the country.
The Bal Puraskar is given annually by government to recognize exceptional achievements of children in various fields such as innovation, scholastic achievements, social service, arts and culture, sports and bravery.
The award was instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India in 1996.
The award consists of a Gold Medal, a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, certificate and a citation
