Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee passes away at 84
- The former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, passed away at the age of 84 years. He had been in coma since a brain surgery earlier this month. He had also tested positive for coronavirus.
- He had gone into septic shock due to his lung infection. He developed a lung infection and renal dysfunction over the past few days.
- Pranab Mukherjee was the President of India from 2012 to 2017. He was the 13th President of India. He was from Congress.
- He was Minister of Finance between 2009 and 2012, Minister of Defence (2004-2006), Minister of External Affairs (2006-2009).
- Pranab Mukherjee was conferred Padma Vibhushan in 2008 and Bharat Ratna in 2019.
