- Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on two days visit to 3 northeastern state of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura from February 8 to 9, 2019 to inaugurate various projects and address rallies.
- PM started his visit with Arunachal Pradesh followed by Assam and Tripura respectively.
Arunachal Pradesh
- In Arunachal, PM inaugurated and laid foundation of following projects
- Greenfield airport at Hollongi in Parum Pare district
- Inaugurated the upgraded Tezu Airport.
- Dedicated the 110 MW Pare hydroelectric power plant to the nation.
- Launched a project to construct a strategic tunnel in Sela that will reduce travel time to the India-China border town of Tawang by over an hour.
- Launched a new, dedicated, round-the-clock Doordarshan channel ‘DD Arun Prabha’ for state.
- Laid the foundation stone for 7 Extra High Voltage (EHV) Sub-stations and 24 Low Tension (LT) Sub-stations in Itanagar
- Laid foundation stone for a permanent campus of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India at Jote
- Inaugurated 50 health and wellness centers in the state.
Assam
- PM laid the foundation of a six-lane bridge over the river Brahmaputra in Guwahati.
- Inaugurated construction work of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS at Changsari.
- In energy sector, he inaugurated the Numaligarh Refinery’s bio-diesel plant and the Barauni-Guwahati gas pipeline.
- Laid the foundation stone of Northeast Gas Grid for uninterrupted supply of natural gas across the northeast.
- Inaugurated a gas processing plant in Tinsukia and an LPG capacity augmentation of mounted storage vessel in Guwahati.
- Laid the foundation stone of NRL bio-refinery at Numaligarh
- 729-km long Barauni-Guwahati gas pipeline
Tripura
- PM Modi unveiled a plaque to dedicate the Garjee-Belonia railway line to the nation.
- Inaugurated the new complex of the Tripura Institute of Technology
- Unveiled the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
