- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi was on a day long visit to Odisha on 24 December, 2018 to inaugurate and lay foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 14,523 crore.
- These projects were related to health, road and highways, oil and gas pipeline infrastructure, higher education and culture.
- The projects are part of PM Modi’s vision of “Purvodaya: a prosperous East for building a new India”.
Projects Launched:
- Inaugurated Campus of IIT- Bhubaneswar, built at a cost of Rs 1260 crore, at Argul
- Dedicated new 100-bed upgraded ward of ESIC Hospital in Bhubaneswar
- Released a postage stamp & a commemorative coin on the bicentenary (200 anniversary) of 1817 Paika Rebellion. The Paika Rebellion (Paika Bidroha) was fought against British rule, in Odisha in 1817.
- Announced establishment of Buxi Jagabandhu Chair (research laboratory) in Utkal University. A corpus fund of Rs 5 crore will be provided by the Union Culture Ministry for the same.
- Inaugurated archaeological museum at Lalitgiri through video-conferencing at IIT Bhubaneswar.

- Bokaro- Angul section of Jagdishpur- Haldia pipeline
- Bokaro-Dhamra pipeline project of GAIL India ltd
- Six laning of Chandikhole-Bhadrak section of NH-5 on Hybrid Annuity model
- Four-laning of Cuttack-Angul Section of NH- 42 on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode
- Six laning of of Bhubaneswar-Puintola section of NH-5 of 132.14 kilometers
