PM Modi inaugurates projects worth Rs 2,413 crore in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation several projects costing Rs 2413 crore.

Highlights:

  • Inland Multi-Modal Terminal Port constructed at the cost of 207 crore rupees on river Ganga at Ramnagar. This is the first of the four Multi-Modal Terminals being constructed on National Waterways-I on River Ganga as part of the World Bank-aided Jal Marg Vikas project of the Inland Waterways Authority of India. (Rs 5,369.18 crore). The project aims to develop the stretch of the river Ganga between Varanasi and Haldia for the navigation of large vessels. The other three terminals are under construction at Sahibganj, Haldia and Gazipur. 
  • Two Highways– Total length of the two highways is 34 kilometre and they have been constructed at a cost of over 1,500 crore rupees.
  • 16 kilometre Varanasi Ring Road Phase-I has been completed at a cost of over 750 crores, while the 17-kilometre Babatpur-Varanasi road was constructed at a cost of over 800 crore rupees.
