Piyush Goyal launches National GIS-enabled land bank portal for details on industrial belts

On 27 August 2020, the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal launched the National GIS-enabled Land Bank System- a database of industrial areas/clusters across the states- to help in providing real-time information about the availability of industrial land and resources in the country.
The National GIS-enabled Land Bank System (https://iis.ncog.gov.in/parks) is being developed by integrating the Industrial Information System (IIS) with state GIS (Geographic Information System) to provide deatls about State Land banks.
Initially, the project has been launched for six states and subsequently all the other states/UTs will be onboarded by December 2020.
So far around 3,300 industrial parks across 31 states/UTs covering about 4,75,000 hectare land have been mapped on the system.
The information available on the portal includes forest, drainage; raw material heat maps (agricultural, horticulture, mineral layers); details of logistics, land, rail & air connectivity, tax incentives, drainage system, power supply and raw material availability on various industrial belts.
