Odisha Government Launches two new Portals ‘Integrated Odisha State Scholarship’ and ‘Sumangal’ to aid beneficiaries

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched two web portals on 28 October 2020, which includes: Integrated Odisha State Scholarship Portal and Sumangal Portal.

Integrated Odisha State Scholarship Portal

  • This portal will help eligible students of the state in availing scholarship benefits in a seamless and transparent manner.
  • 21 scholarships would be offered by eight state departments and more than 11 lakh beneficiary students from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and educationally backward classes would benefit from the scholarship portal.

Sumangal Portal

  • This portal will help people avail inter-caste marriage incentives, under Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012.
  • The initiative aims to reduce the caste-prejudices, abolish ‘untouchability’ and spread the value of liberty, equality, fraternity in the society.
  • After approval, the eligible beneficiaries will get incentives within 60 days from application submission date.
