Manipur’s Sirarakhong Chilli and Tamenglong Orange gets GI tag
- Two famous products of Manipur, namely Hathei chilly, commonly known as the Sirarakhong chilly and Tamenglong Orange have received the Geographical Index (GI) tag.
- A GI tag is a name given to certain products that have a specific geographical location or origin.
- With GI, the crop will have global recognition and the marketing of the product will be beyond the national borders.
