Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon passes away at 85

• Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon has passed away after battling long time illness. He was 85.
• He had been hospitalised in Lucknow since June 11, after developing breathing problems among other health issues.
• UP Governor Anandiben Patel had been given the additional charges as Governor of MP in his absence.
• Tandon was appointed as the 22nd Governor of Madhya Pradesh, replacing Anandiben Patel.
• He had also served as the 28th Governor of Bihar from 23 August 2018 – 28 July 2019.
• Apart from this, Tandon served in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for two terms from 1978 to 1984, and 1990-1996;  MLA in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for three terms between 1996 to 2009 as well as an MP in the 15th Lok Sabha.
