Legendary Actor Rajnikanth conferred upon 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Veteran actor Rajinikanth has been honoured with the prestigious 51st Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contribution to the world of Indian cinema.
The legendary actor received the Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019 at the 67th National Film Awards in New Delhi on October 25, 2021 by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.

About Dadasaheb Phalke Awards

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest honour in cinema.
It was instituted in 1969 by the Directorate of Film Festivals for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema.
The award is named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, who is revered as the father of Indian cinema.
The recipient receives a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
