Kandhamal Haldi (Turmeric) of Odisha Gets GI tag
- The Kandhamal Haldi (turmeric), named after Kandhamal district of Odisha, has received the GI tag from the Geographical Indications Registry office on April 1, 2019.
- The recognition coincided with the Odisha’s Foundation Day (Utkal Divas). Odisha was formed as a separate state on April 1, 1936.
