- Novelist K V Mohankumar has been honored with 2018 Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Literature Award for his novel titled “Ushnarashi: Karappurathinte Ithihasam”, revolving around the Vayalar uprising.
- The prestigious award, instituted by the Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Trust, comprises a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a statuette and a citation.
