ITBP DIG Aparna Kumar Becomes First Civil Servant to Scale North America’s Mount Denali
- Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Aparna Kumar has successfully scaled the highest peak of North America, Mount Denali.
- This was the 7th summit of Aparna in her ‘7 Summits’ challenge.
- The 2002 batch UP Cadre IPS officer, Aparna has now become the first civil servant and IPS officer to achieve this rare feat.
- In January 2019, she had become the first IPS and ITBP woman officer to successfully reach the South Pole.
