• The International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year, to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
• Official UN theme of IWD 2021 –  “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”.
• The hashtag will be #IWD2021 and #InternationalWomensDay.
• The first National Woman’s Day was observed in the United States on 28 February.1909.
• The day was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.
• On this day, women are recognized for their achievements without regard to any national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political discrimination.
