International Day of Non-Violence: October 2
- Every year, October 2 is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence, to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and also spread the message of non-violence.
- On 15 June 2007 the United Nations General Assembly, voted to establish 2 October as the International Day of Non-Violence.
- The year 2019 marks 150th birth anniversary of the global peace icon who led India to independence. He was born on 2 October 1869, Porbandar in Gujarat.
