International Day of Democracy: 15 September
- The International Day of Democracy is celebrated across the world on 15 September each year, since 2008.
- It was established through a resolution passed by the UN General Assembly in 2007, for promoting and upholding the principles of democracy and provide an opportunity to review the state of democracy in the world.
- The theme for 2021 International Day of Democracy is “Strengthening democratic resilience in the face of future crises”
