International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer: 16 September

The International Day for the preservation for Ozone layer (World Ozone Day) is observed annually on September 16 to spread awareness of the depletion of the Ozone Layer and search for solutions to preserve it.
Theme for 2021 World Ozone Day: ‘Montreal Protocol – keeping us, our food and vaccines cool.’
The day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly on December 19, 2000, to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987.
