Indian-origin UK Minister Alok Sharma to lead UN Climate Summit COP26

Indian-origin UK Minister Alok Sharma has been appointed as the new President of the 2020 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
COP26 is the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference scheduled to be held in Glasgow, Scotland from 9 to 19 November 2020 under the presidency of the UK government.
Agra-born Sharma (52), is the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Cabinet reshuffle.
