India-UK Launches Green Grids Initiative One Sun One World One Grid at COP26

India and the United Kingdom have jointly launched Green Grids Initiative One Sun One World One Grid’ (GGI-OSOWOG) during the World Leaders’ Summit of COP26 on November 02, 2021.
The GGI-OSOWOG initiative is the first international network of global interconnected solar power grids, so that clean energy can be transmitted to anywhere & anytime.
The Steering Committee of GGI-OSOWOG have five members, including India, the UK, the US, Australia and France.
The initiative has been backed by more than 80 Member States of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would develop a solar calculator to inform countries about the solar potential of any place on the earth using satellite data.
The calculator will help to decide the solar projects’ location and strengthen the `one sun, one world, one grid’ initiative.
