India to Provide Technical Skill for Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) Programme in Bhutan

  • India has been chosen as the Partner Jurisdiction for the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) programme launched in Bhutan on June 23, 2021.
  • Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) is a joint initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), launched in 2015, to strengthen auditing capacity of developing countries and multinationals’ compliance worldwide.
  • Under this programme India shall transfer technical know-how and skills and share best audit practices with tax auditors of Bhutan to aid Bhutan for strengthening its tax administration.
  • The programme has been launched for about 24 months’ duration, during which India will jointly work with UNDP and the TIWB Secretariat. The programme will focus in the area of International Taxation and Transfer Pricing.
