India to launch mobile tech platform 'UNITE AWARE' for UN peacekeepers in August 2021

India is developing a mobile tech platform called ‘UNITE AWARE’, to make use of technology in the safety and security of UN peacekeepers.
India is working on this project in collaboration with UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Operational Support.
India is contributing $1.64 million towards the project.
UNITE AWARE will help to increase situational awareness and provide terrain-related information to peacekeepers, because field-focused, reliable and cost-effective new technologies have become need of the hour in peacekeeping operations that are driven by practical needs of end users.
The project UNITE AWARE will be launched in August 2021 when India will be the assuming the Presidency of the 15-nation UN Security Council.
