India Tennis Legend and Davis Cup Coach Akhtar Ali passes away at 81
- A former Davis Cup coach and legendary Indian tennis player, Akhtar Ali, has passed away, as he was suffering from Parkinson’s disease and other health issues. He was 81.
- Akhtar Ali, was a father figure in Indian tennis.
- He represented India continuously in eight Davis Cup between 1958 and 1964 and was captain of Indian Davis Cup in 2008.
- Later he turned to coaching and had coached the players like Ramesh Krishnan, Vijay Amritraj, Anand Amritraj and Leander Paes.
