‘India Skills Report 2019’: employability increased from 37% to 47.38% in 5 years

  • India Skills Report 2019 was released  by Wheebox, a Global Talent Assessment Company, PeopleStrong and CII and supported and backed by renowned partners like UNDP, AICTE.
  • It stated that Employability continues to rise thus reaching a new high of 47% this year – An incrementalchange of almost 2-3 percentage points since last year and a huge change of over 15% points in the past 5 years.
  • According to the nationwide study, the top three states in terms of employability is Andhra Pradesh followed by West Bengal and Delhi. 
  • On gender diversity, the survey says female employability this year has increased to 46% from 38% last year. Male employability score has grown marginally to 48% from 47% last year.
  • It was launched at the 8th CII Global Summit on Skill Development held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
