India Ranks 19 out of 28 Nations in 2019 Index of Cancer Preparedness by EIU

• India has been placed at 19th spot out of 28  countries in the Index of Cancer Preparedness (ICP) 2019 created by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). India got a score of 64.9.
• Australia has topped the ICP list with a score of 90.6, followed by the Netherlands (89.9) and Germany (88.7).
• Egypt (28), Romania (27) and Saudi Arabia (26) were placed at the bottom of the list.
• The ICP allows benchmarking of national efforts and identify best practice in addressing the cancer challenge.
• The Index of Cancer Preparedness (ICP) presents data on 45 indicators that are relevant to cancer control.
