- India successfully launched its latest communication satellite GSAT-29 (3,423 kg) with its heaviest rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV-Mk III) into the geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO) .
- It was the second developmental flight for GSLV-Mk III. The launch was done from Satish Dhawan Space Centre of ISRO.
