ICC Appoints GS Lakshmi as First Female Match Referee
- GS Lakshmi has been appointed to the ICC International Panel of Match Referees, becoming eligible to referee international matches with immediate effect.
- With this, the 51-year-old has become the first ever woman to be inducted to Match Referees panel of ICC.
- Lakshmi first officiated in domestic women’s cricket in 2008-09 and has supervised three women’s ODI matches and three women’s T20I matches.
